Science Notebooks are important tools for teaching writing skills along with inquiry science. The following websites offer an introduction to notebooks:

The following is a website for the Elementary Science Integration Project which has worked to integrate science and literacy for many years. The "Books and Beyond" link will lead you to recommended children's books.

National Science Teacher's Association (www.nsta.org) journal Science and Children has several articles on Science Notebooks, reading in science and recommended tradebooks.
