Effler Scientists investigate Meadowbrook in front of Nottingham HS

Our class has been investigating the Meadowbrook Watershed in collaboration with Ed Smith students. W e have conducted three observations of Meadowbrook. These three observations are the weather, water, animals and plants, the water quality, and macroinvertebrates.
We have observed the following plants and animals. I saw seaweed, leaves and grass. For animals, I saw what might be a falcon, tadpoles, and a weird looking black bug that kept jumping.

Berman Scientists investigate Meadowbrook at Broad Avenue

The 209 family has been investigating a lot of things at the watershed. We have been investigating water quality, plants and animals. The latest thing we studied were macroinvertabrates. We had to look for macroinvertabrates in our water samples. We also checked for pollution.

Balcom Scientists investigate Meadowbrook at Kensington Ave

We have been studying the Meadowbrook watershed by the water and looking at macroinvertebrates in the water. We also did a project with water, a cup, and the things around us. We were looking at what would happen if rain was to rain on certain areas, places or things.
In the water that we tested there were coliform bacteria, dissolved oxygen, nitrates, pH, and phosphates. For coliform bacteria the water quality was poor. The dissolved oxygen and nitrates water quality was good.
